What to Expect
The Chilam Joshi Festival is one of the most important festivals of the year, known most famously as the Kalash Spring Festival. The Kalash people celebrate this four-day festival across the Kalash valleys of Rumbur, Bumburet and Birir. The primary objective is for Kalasha men and women to identify a spouse for themselves, while singing and dancing together to the beat of their drums and other local instruments. They announce the name of their chosen partners on the final day of the Festival, reflecting a unique cultural richness and harmony in their society and a message of peace to the world.
